Appreciate and build Talent

Honest and Sincere are the criteria Dale Carnegie used to define appreciation. I believe this takes the activity from one of self-serving tools to true leadership. Developing talent is the buzz word for organizations as they struggle to build internal leaders. Several talent surveys exist to identify your strengths. More important is the ability to sense the talent of others and maximize the talents of others in your organization.

Perhaps a good exercise is to write down a list of the people on your team or in your life and record each person's talents/strengths. What evidence directs you to that talent/strength for that person? Record the evidence as well.

Now that you have your list....how about sharing it with them? Post it on their wallpost, send an email, send a letter (remember those?), or text/call/whatever. Just share and watch the person grow.
